FINAL single. Wow. That just sounds so… absolute. We All Go Back to Where We Belong will be on REM’s greatest hits collection Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbarge which spans their career from 1982 to 2011. That is a LEGACY in music right there, nearly three decades of influential work. The song is a soft little ditty hinting at going full circle. There are two versions of videos released for the track. The first one has Kirsten Dunst listening to the track, the second has poet John Giorno. Let’s just say Kirsten Dunst has just a bit more expression and is a little easier to watch through the song with. It may be the end of REM (until any reunions much later down the road), but I’m pretty sure we will still hear about Michael Stipes as he dabbles in music outside of the confines of REM.
