Never too late

The first time I heard Wild Beasts was when they graced the Panhandle Stage at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco around two years ago. It was probably 2009? Or maybe it was 2010. I was just passing by and was immediately drawn to their sound. Since then, I’ve listened to their songs online, but it isn’t until now that I finally popped their 2009 album Two Dancers in for a listen. I also had the luck to see them live at the Treasure Island Music Festival last year. They did not disappoint.

Every so often, some of the albums I buy get lost in my endless boxes and stacks of CDs, still in shrink wrap. Then everything is so backed up from what I have in queue that the album gathers dust. That’s what happened with Two Dancers, despite my loving several tracks off the disc from my previous exposure and music listening sessions online. And what an album it is! It’s never too late to go back to old EPs and LPs, trust me. That’s why I’m always at such a loss for time and everything gets so backed up! Good music is good music… whether it came out a few years prior, decades prior, or is brand spanking new. The UK rockers also have a 2011 album, Smother, which I faintly recall holding off on purchasing since at the time it was an import which costs double the price of if they released the same album in the US. I’m not sure if they ended up releasing Smother here, it seems like they may not have. Guess I may have to shell out the money eventually. I know an album is good when I’m listening to it while driving and I can’t help feeling a grin trying to break out on my face, no matter what else is going on in life. This was one of those albums. Here’s a few of the amazing dream pop art rock tracks I like from Two Dancers.  For some of you, this is a revisit. For others, this is a chance to discover something really good which may have slipped through the cracks previously.
