Right The Stars and Karmina cover of Gotye
Looks like I missed a Gotye cover a few weeks ago. How’d THAT happen? I’m always on point when it comes to Somebody That I Used To Know and Lana Del Rey covers, aren’t I? ;) At least the good ones anyway. Here’s a quiet, slower, softer version by Right The Stars featuring Karmina. It’s a lot less angry and possibly even more Phil Collins-like/new wave-esque than the original. Wow, I’d forgotten about Karmina. I recall the first time I heard about them was due to their competing to play at the Lilith Fair revival a few years ago. They were one of the bands up for voting, and I liked their sound when I checked them out. Right The Stars is an LA project consisting of several talented musicians from other bands, including The Rescues and Alan Parson’s Project. They have a new album titled Hello Yes OK coming out shortly, and I’m curious to check out how they sound in original material.
